the intersection of
truth-making and connection
may 2019
Photography is a way of freezing a moment in time, capturing the action, the ideas, and the emotions. It’s a medium that can transcend time and space, connecting people that might otherwise never encounter one another. This project sought to investigate just how photography does that; how it can build relationships, showcase truth, and foster understanding.
While the subjects in these photos share common characteristics—they’re white, college-aged females—they have all had different life experiences, are fueled by different passions, and visually express themselves in different ways. These photos speak to that diversity among their similarity; they display how these subjects think and respond to their own being as well as to those they interact with.
Here, in the space connecting the visual and the physical you can find their stories, and, therefore, their truth.
